Peanut Sauce – Spicy

Spicy Peanut Sauce

Peanut butter, garlic, and soy sauce form the base of this spicy peanut sauce used as a condiment. It is especially good with poultry. Allow several hours of refrigeration time before using to allow flavors to meld.

This sauce makes anything taste better.

Prep Time: 10 minutes – not counting mixing up the bottle of natural peanut butter.  I bought a large jar from Costco – what a mess.  But – worth it.

1 cup fresh smooth natural peanut butter
•        1/2 cup hot water or Coconut Milk
•        2 cloves garlic, finely minced and mashed
•        2 Tablespoons soy sauce
•        1 teaspoon ground cumin
•        1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder or liquid sauce
•        1/2 teaspoon curry powder
•        1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice – I used bottled

In the blender, whisk peanut butter, hot water (coconut milk), garlic, soy sauce, cumin, cayenne, curry powder, and lemon juice together to form a smooth paste. Cover and set aside for several hours to allow the flavors to mix well.

Sauce is best warmed before serving.

Yield: 1-1/2 to 2 cups
