> Protein and Carbs – The TNT Diet Whey

Following the rules in the TNT Book, I am on the following Plan B – Protein/Carb Shake regime before and after workouts (if I was on Plan A – it would be the same – but no added Carbs):

I use Gold Standard Whey from GNC for my Protein.   The Chocolate Malt is my favorite.

One Scoop:
Calories; 120
Fat: 1 gram
Carbs: 3 grams
Protein: 24 grams

I use Fat Free Yogurt for my pre-workout Carbs and 8oz of low fat Chocolate Milk for my post work out Carbs.

8oz 1% fat Chocolate Milk.  You can find no fat Chocolate Milk and save approx. 15 calories – but I need the Lactose free – and can’t find no fat.

Calories: 150
Fat: 1.5 grams
Carbs: 24 grams
Protein: 8 grams

8oz Shop Rite Light Yogurt
Calories: 120
Fat: 0 grams
Carbs: 20 grams
Protein: 9 grams

On Cardio Days or on Plan A Weight and Cardio Days:

One (1) scoop of Whey before and one (1) scoop immediately after the workout.  I then have two (2) scoops in the window of 30-60 minutes after the workout.  This = 480 Calories, 12 grams of Carbs, 4 grams fat and 96 grams of Protein.*

Add Yogurt and Chocolate Milk on Weight Training days, only on Plan B, this is an additional 270 Calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 44 grams of Carbs and 17 grams of Protein.

The total with the additional Carbs increases from 480 to 750 calories, 66 grams of Carbs, 6 grams fat and 113 grams of Protein – assuming I do not mound the Whey – which I do. This is why I have it instead of Breakfast.

From a Calorie point of view, this is expensive – but I am exercising – HARD – and really controlling all of my other Carbs, so my weight loss continues – slowly but muscle gain also continues. If I was on Plan D or E – I would probably not be losing, just gaining or retaining muscle.

*Instead of the 20-40 grams of whey protein within the window of 30-60 minutes after the workout, I could have a regular “Fat Burning Meal,” as long as it contained 20-40 grams of high quality protein.  I usually go with having another shake because I workout early in the morning and do not have time to stop for breakfast.  If I do have breakfast, then it will be something like one or two fried eggs and meat – such as steak.

      Julie:

I have zero knowledge about this stuff. I am not a big fan of this type of supplement.

      Good Luck
